Prepare your Swiss company formation project

A useful first conversation starts with what your business will actually do. You do not need to have chosen a legal form before contacting us.

  • Describe the products or services you plan to offer, your customers and where in Switzerland you intend to operate.
  • Tell us whether you are starting alone or with other founders, and whether the project extends an existing business abroad.
  • Separate the company’s needs from your personal relocation plans. Setting up a company, finding a home and preparing a residence application are distinct projects.
  • Indicate where you would like the registered office to be and whether you need working premises. This helps identify the questions to discuss with the partner sought for your file.

Fees and timing for your support

The initial conversation is free and without obligation. The price and scope of support are set out in a proposal tailored to your project, before you accept it. Timing is discussed in light of the steps involved, availability and the parties concerned.

Your questions

Do I have to incorporate a company before starting?

No. Depending on your circumstances, self-employment, including a sole proprietorship, may be an option without immediately forming a Swiss limited liability company (Sàrl/GmbH) or public limited company (SA/AG). You still need to check residence and work requirements, recognition of your status by the compensation office and the formalities applicable to your activity.

Does setting up a company let me move to Switzerland?

Not automatically — these are two separate things. If your plan involves both, we prepare them together.

Do I need to live in Switzerland to set up a company?

Not necessarily, but rules apply as to who may represent the company. It is one of the first points we look at with you.

Can I start from abroad?

Part of it can be prepared remotely. Other steps call for being there in person. We tell you which from the outset, so you can plan your trips.
