Who handles your information
The site is operated by RDB Immobilier Sàrl, a société à responsabilité limitée — a limited liability company under Swiss law — registered under Swiss business identification number CHE-282.913.988. It decides what the information collected is used for, and it is the controller for it.
For anything concerning your data, write to contact@settleinswitzerland.com. The French site, S’installer en Suisse, is run by the same company, with its own address.
À compléter avant la mise en ligne publique
- Whether a postal contact address has to appear on the site — the question comes from art. 3(1)(s) of the Swiss Unfair Competition Act and is still open: see the summary below
What you give us
What you type into the contact journey, and nothing more:
- Your first name, your email address, and your phone number if you give it.
- How you would rather be contacted.
- What you tell us about your project: its type, the services you are interested in, the area or cantons, the timeframe.
- The free-text message you write, if any.
We ask for no identity document, no paperwork, no bank details, and nothing about your health, your opinions or your family circumstances.
What is recorded alongside
Two technical items come with every request: the date and time it was sent, and a fingerprint of your IP address.
The fingerprint is computed with a secret key; our database does not hold your address in the clear. It is used only to count requests coming from the same source over a short period, to limit automated submissions.
That does not make it anonymous. The fingerprint stays the same for a given address, and anyone holding both the key and an address to test could check whether the two match. It lowers the risk; it does not remove it.
What it is all for
Getting back to you, and preparing our conversation. Nothing else.
- No marketing emails, no newsletter.
- No selling, no exchanging of lists.
- Nothing passed to a partner without your prior agreement.
Who can see your information
Two kinds of third party, with neither the same role nor the same access.
- Technical providers: they host the site and the database, or carry the emails. They do not use your information for their own purposes, but it does pass through their servers. Today: Hostinger for hosting, Hostpoint for email.
- Partners: for company formation, residence permits and registered addresses, we find a partner suited to your case. A file reaches them only with your agreement, and you know who they are before anything is sent.
The application and the database sit on one and the same machine, whose name and address are registered in France, in the Paris area: the host declares this itself in the public registry of internet addresses. The network serving the pages answers from whichever node is closest to the visitor.
These point the same way, but none of them is an attestation: we have asked the host to confirm the country of storage in writing, and this page will be updated when they answer.
À compléter avant la mise en ligne publique
- Written confirmation from the host on where data is stored
- Where backups are stored, and how long a deleted record survives in them
- How long technical providers keep their logs
What your browser keeps
The site sets no cookies and uses no external analytics.
While you fill in the journey, your answers stay in the page. They are gone if you close the tab before sending.
One exception: a random identifier, kept for the length of the browsing session, which stops a resubmission from creating a duplicate request. It holds no name, no email, no phone number and no message.
If you switch language along the way
Your choices of project, services, area and timeframe follow you, carried in the page address.
Your contact details never are: you type them again. That is deliberate — a page address ends up in browser history and in the logs of every server it passes through.
How long we keep it
That period has not been settled yet. It will be before the site goes public, and it will appear here.

What you can ask for
You can ask what we hold about you, have it corrected, or ask us to erase it. Write to us and we will answer.
The 48 hours mentioned on the form cover our commercial reply only. They do not cover the delivery of any support, nor a request about your data: the time we commit to for those is still to be settled, and will appear here.
À compléter avant la mise en ligne publique
- The response time we commit to
- The competent supervisory authority, depending on where you live
No payment through this site
The site collects no bank details and takes no payment. Any payment would be arranged directly with you.
